In this video, I explain that due to the ongoing legal battle between Automattic (the company behind WordPress) and WP Engine (the company behind ACF), has led to WP Engine being unable to upload new versions of ACF and other free plugins to WordPress.org.
As a result, automatic updates for ACF are no longer available through WordPress.org, and users need to manually update the plugin to ensure they are using the latest version.
I will walk you through the simple steps to manually update ACF to the latest version (6.37 in this example) and explain how future updates will work directly from WP Engine’s servers.
I also cover how to use the WPE Secure Update plugin if you have multiple WP Engine plugins installed.
